Today, chasteberry Also Known as (Vitex). There are a few different species of vitex, but Vitex agnus-castus is most commonly used as a herbal supplement. This plant is sometimes also called chastetree, chasteberry, or monk's pepper, is promoted as a dietary supplement for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, breast pain
associated with the menstrual cycle, infertility, and many other conditions. 

Main Constituents of Vitex are iridoid glycosides, flavonoids, alkaloids, and essential oils. Its dominant pharmacological effect on the body is inhibition of prolactin secretion.

35–40 mg of the equivalent dried, powdered extract to be taken once per day in the morning with some liquid.
